Allstate in particular offers boat insurance starting at incredibly low rates that can be paid on a monthly basis. Many boat owners may be surprised to realize that in the right circumstances it may be possible for them to get insurance for less than $25.00 a month.

Keep in mind, although you may not be using your boat in the off months, you will still want some coverage for storm or winter damage, theft, etc.  Owning a boat provides an opportunity to have fun on the water and enjoy many pleasurable days.
